  • NanoPhrades is led by Mitch Javidi, Ph.D.,  a world-reknowned futurist and business analyst with a proven track record in evaluating and assessing the national and international competitive positioning of companies large and small across a multitude of industries.   He directs every engagement, coordinates and supervises the senior level analysts and is involved in the writing and editing of every final report. His experience with U.S. Fortune 50 companies as well as leading businesses in Europe, the Middle East and India provides a global perspective with clear, concise information directly related to the Value Chain of the client. 
  • NanoPhrades specializes and is focused on the Private Equity investment market. As such, its team specialists have an innate and thorough understanding of the information requirements of Private Equity investors and lenders. This helps assure that engagements are completed quickly, confidentially, and with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations of companies being considered.

Mitch Javidi, Ph.D, Chairman and Founder

 

Dr. Javidi has twenty seven years of strategic Leadership, Marketing, and Research in diverse industries.  He is a tenured adjunct professor and a member of the Academy of Outstanding Teachers & Scholars at North Carolina State University.  Prior to funding NanoPhrades, Dr. Javidi successfully built and sold various business ventures. He was CEO of Digiton Corporation and the Catevo Group Worldwide.  As an internationally recognized strategist and researcher, his experience provides interesting perspectives to the evaluation and assessment of target industries and companies.  More specifically, his work addresses a variety of key issues including competitive position, commercialization viability, market positioning and business performance.  Mitch has received prominent acclaim for his strategic endeavors. In 1998, the National Society of Accountants named him Person of the Year in recognition of his competitive intelligence and strategic counsel as part of the association's organizational redesign initiatives. Senator Roth received the award in the following year. In 1999, the United States Department of Defense Special Operations Command inducted Dr. Javidi as an honorary member to recognize his strategy and intelligence contributions to the unit's ongoing development and training.

 

Doug Rende, President & CEO


With over 25 years of successful senior leadership experience, Doug Rende has driven successful new business launches, developed and executed product innovation processes, created sustainable branding strategies in the manufacturing, building materials and service industries. In his role as Vice President and General Manager, Doug led the North American sales/marketing, brand development and category launch of Pergo; in his ex-patriot, General Manager responsibilities, he established new international business operations for Armstrong World Industries and as owner/president led the repositioning and business turnaround of a Midwestern building materials company to a 4.5X earnings divestiture in 36 months. In these and other assignments, Doug brings expertise in P&L management, decision thinking principles, project management, strategic planning, market research, competitive intelligence, and organizational system alignment.  Since 2001, Doug has developed considerable focus in matters of mergers and acquisitions, developing proprietary, critical assessment tools in areas of due diligence, risk assessment and strategic business planning. These successes have contributed to his board of director’s positions within the NAHB, PRO, NAFCD and NALFA organizations. Along with numerous awards and certifications, Doug is a featured speaker on strategic development, sales deployment and due diligence methodologies for clients and industry associations nationwide. Doug is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Aresty Institute of Executive Education.
